Data Privacy

Data Privacy is the technical work at 1EdTech focused on vetting educational applications, to ensure that a minimum standard of privacy and security is met.

Example: 1EdTech has vetted over 8,500 applications used in education against the Data Privacy rubric. 


Data Privacy Launch

Allows LTI-enabled tools to assist administrative users in managing and executing requests related to data privacy.


Data Privacy Seal

The TrustEd Apps Seal of Data Privacy identifies that an application satisfactorily completes the TrustEd Apps vetting process, is certified for Data Privacy, and its ratings on the TrustEd Apps Data Privacy Rubric are fully disclosed and meet a specified level of expectation of data privacy


Deep Linking (DL)

Provides a picker flow for content selection that allows teachers to discover and add content directly to their course modules from within their learning platform.


Digital Content Standards

The 1EdTech technical standards used to integrate digital content. The digital content standards are: 

- CASE (Competencies and Academic Standards Exchange)

- Common Cartridge and Thin Common Cartridge (CC/TCC)

- LTI-Advantage

- LTI-Resource Search

This group of standards are used to provide easy access to learning resources, which may include curriculum, content, activities and simple assessments.

Digital Ecosystem

All the various platforms, applications, tools, and ways in which those systems are connected to pass data among the systems. By creating standard ways to transmit data between these platforms, applications, and tools, school districts can reduce costs, time, and increase the effectiveness of the teaching and learning cycle.

Example: The digital ecosystem of Springfield County is a bit disjointed and learners have to log in to multiple systems each day.  The leadership team is evaluating the interoperability of the ecosystem and areas for improvement. 


Dynamic Registration

An LTI Service that defines a way to automate the exchange of registration information between platforms and tools that use the OpenId Connect and oAuth 2 registration flows, allowing platform administrators to automate tool registrations.
